Since the mid-1970s, China has been at the forefront of developing dry screening technologies for fine-grained materials. This journey began with the introduction of various innovations such as the rotary probability screen from the UK, the tensile screen with an elastic surface from Germany, the spiral classifier from the USSR, and the banana screen from France. These advancements paved the way for China to develop its own screening equipment, including the high amplitude screen, double rotary screen, and flip-flow screen.

Evolution and Challenges in Screening Technology

The implementation of these technologies has led to significant progress in the coal screening industry. However, persistent technical challenges remain, primarily balancing mechanical strength with effective screening performance. Common issues include fatigue damage during operation, high failure rates, clogging of 6mm sieve holes, and low screening efficiency.

In the current market, there is a growing demand for precise classification of coal particles, particularly for materials below 6mm. The need for highly reliable screening equipment with high efficiency and non-sticking, non-blocking capabilities is more urgent than ever.

Purpose of Fine Grading Screen Development

1. Suitability for Wet Materials: The primary goal is to develop screening equipment that excels in processing wet and sticky coal. This includes grading materials below 6mm, with a minimum classification limit of 3mm.

2. Indigenous Innovation: Developing fine-grading screens with independent intellectual property rights and advanced performance indicators to replace costly imported tensile screen products.
